Agreement Reached With Premier League Club For Chelsea Attacker

Chelsea

It’s been an interesting couple of days for Chelsea. That is set to continue after an agreement has been reached with a fellow Premier League club for a Chelsea attacker.

Striker Liam Delap picked up an injury in Saturday’s win against Fulham that is set to sideline him for at least eight weeks. As a result, Nicolas Jackson’s proposed loan move to Bayern Munich was cancelled on the same day. However, there has been an interesting twist in the saga in recent hours.

Chelsea Reach Agreement For Attacker

According to Matt Law, Chelsea have reached an agreement with fellow Premier League side Sunderland for the recall of attacker Marc Guiu.

The 19 year old only joined the Mackems 25 days ago on a season-long loan deal. However, that is set to be cut short after both clubs agreed to terminate the loan early.

Guiu will most likely be deployed as a back-up striker to Joao Pedro whilst Delap recovers from a hamstring injury.

Regis Le Bris has preferred both Eliezer Mayenda and Wilson Isidor to Guiu so far this season. The former Barcelona player has been limited to just 13 minutes in the Premier League so far this season.

During Sunderland’s Carabao cup exit on Tuesday to League One Huddersfield Town, Guiu managed to play the full 90 where he scored the equaliser.

Potential Implications for Other Chelsea Forwards

Guiu’s recall means there is one less attacker needed at Chelsea and one more loan spot available.

Nicolas Jackson was demanded to return to the club on Saturday. The Senegalese international was preparing for a medical ahead of a proposed loan move to Bayern Munich. However, Chelsea pulled the plug on the deal.

Shortly after Guiu’s recall, Bayern Munich had also reportedly pulled out of any deal for Jackson before Monday’s deadline. The 24 year old has already set his stance clear; he wants to leave Chelsea before the deadline.

Aston Villa were one of the clubs interested in securing Jackson’s services this window on a temporary basis. With Villa yet to score in three league games so far this season, a move for Jackson could be likely on Monday.

Another player that is set to benefit from Guiu’s recall is Tyrique George. The young winger was interesting the likes of AS Roma, RB Leipzig and Bayern. With one more loan spot available, the Blues could send the Englishman out on a temporary basis. In recent hours, Fulham have emerged as surprise contenders to sign George.

To conclude, the 19 year old Spaniard’s recall from Sunderland is set to pave the way for a very busy deadline day at Cobham training ground.
