Nottingham Forest manager Ange Postecoglou is facing the sack, just six games into his tenure at the Premier League club.
The former Tottenham Hotspur boss took over the club following the sacking of the popular Nuno Espirito Santo earlier in the season.
Whilst results were not as favourable as last season for the now West Ham boss, it was ultimately the deteriorating relationship between him and owner Evangelos Marinakis that became his downfall.
They were quick to appoint Postecoglou to the role. But the decision was met with fury from large sections of the club’s fan base.
The Australian’s start could not have been worse, six games, zero wins, two draws and four defeats. The results have not been the only issue, the lack of effort and poor performances of the players have been notable with the Greek owner noticeably agitated.
The appointment is looking increasingly likely to be a short one.
Nottingham Forest Manager Given Sack Ultimatum
Ange Postecoglou has been given an ultimatum to turn around the results on the pitch or he will be sacked in the upcoming international break.
After a poor end to the 24/25 campaign, despite lifting a trophy, a quick sacking in his next job will have been the last thing Postecoglou would have hoped for whilst looking to get his career back on track.
His stock will have notably fallen, with the opportunities available from now on likely to be less appealing.
Forest on the other hand are at the mercy of their notably erratic owner, who will not have the patience to wait for results to improve after a slow start.
The club that lies in his path is Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United. Who sit just one point above Forest, and will be looking to get their own season started after a difficult transfer window.
