Bromley

Arsenal Defender Close to Deadline Day Departure

Bromley continue to impress in the transfer window having secured promotion from the National League last season with a loan deal reportedly moving closer for an Arsenal defender who made his first-team debut in the current campaign.

Andy Woodman’s side have already been active in the market and have improved the squad with multiple deals including for prolific National League striker Nicke Kabamba and a loan deal for Millwall winger Adam Mayor.

Arsenal Defender Set For Bromley Loan Move

Maldini Kacurri made his first-team debut for the Gunners in a 5-1 Carabao Cup win over Bolton Wanderers in September.

The 19-year-old played the final 20 minutes in the Emirates encounter and has featured on the bench for Mikel Arteta’s side on several occasions in the Premier League this season.

Kacurri has progressed into Arsenal’s under-21 development side in the last 18 months with the central defender having played seven times at Premier League 2 level.

According to the Athletic, Bromley are set to fend off competition from multiple Football League clubs to secure his signature on a deal until the end of the current campaign. The report states that Arsenal have decided that a move to Bromley would be suited for his development.

Additions Required Amid Poor Run of Form

The 2-0 home defeat to Grimsby Town extended Bromley’s winless run to six matches in all competitions and they have conceded 11 times in their last five League Two outings.

They have also seen two players sent off in their league action since the turn of the year and that poor disciplinary record has been a cause for concern all season with their six red cards the highest total of any team in the top tier.

The potential arrival of Kacurri may be the boost that the club need to address a worrying run of form.

There is little danger of them dropping into the relegation battle barring a major collapse but Bromley rank in the top seven for expected goals against and will need to tighten up if they are to continue their impressive first campaign in the Football League.

Kacurri has been in and around the first-team squad at Arsenal. He should bring a level of experience and professionalism that will be a boost in Bromley’s quest to end their poor run of form and disciplinary issues.
