Arsenal have reportedly made Real Madrid star Rodrygo their top target for this summer’s transfer window, as manager Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his attack for next season.
After another season of just missing out on the Premier League, Arsenal will be desperate to improve their team even further in this transfer window in order to try to get over the line next campaign.
Mikel Arteta’s side had a positive campaign with some great results in both the Premier League and UEFA Champions League, with a win over Real Madrid in the latter competition being the main highlight of their season.
However, they will want to be better next year with a trophy certainly in their sights, and a Real Madrid star could be just what they need to get that done.
Rodrygo to Arsenal?
According to Sky Sports News, Real Madrid star Rodrygo has emerged as a top target for Arsenal to sign in the transfer window.
The Brazilian had over 20 goal contributions for Los Blancos for the third competitive campaign in La Liga, and has been linked to the Premier League for a while.
At just 24 years of age, he could be a massive asset for the Gunners for years to come, with plenty of potential to become one of the best attackers in the Premier League if he were to make the move to North London.
The Right Man for Arteta?
Rodrygo’s ability to play any position across the front three is a huge plus for Arteta as he looks for a new attacking option.
Although they already have very talented attackers such as Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, a player such as Rodrygo could be a season-changing move for Arsenal, as his talent alone would place him in the elite category of players.
If Arteta can maintain the levels he has been showing in the last few seasons for Real Madrid, Rodrygo could be the boost that the Gunners need in order to finally win that illustrious Premier League title.
Is a Deal Realistic?
Although Arsenal are one of the biggest clubs in England, Real Madrid are arguably the biggest club on the planet, so prizing a player away from Los Blancos is no easy feat.
Rodrygo has been a key part of Real Madrid’s team for many years now, with him making over 150 appearances in the last three seasons. He has also made a great partnership with fellow Brazilian Vinicius Jr and Madrid newcomer Kylian Mbappe.
However, with the emergence of young talents Endrick and Arda Guler, who both play similar roles to Rodrygo, his game time could become limited, so a move to Arsenal might be his best option for consistent game time next season.
