The ongoing success of Arsenal Football Club continues with news today that the Women’s side has generated more money than any other club in 2025, so the analysis provided by Deloitte proves.

Until the rise of Chelsea and Manchester City, Arsenal were always the leading name within the Women’s game in this country, and last year put themselves firmly back on the map with their Champions League win. They were already in second place on the money list, but that win as well as other commercial revenue has catapulted them to the top. They had an increase of 43% on 2024.

It is all change on the top three money list, with Barcelona, last years leaders, slipping to third, as Chelsea have also jumped ahead of the Spanish giants, after a successful season on the pitch as they won the domestic treble.

Further proof to just how much the Women’s game is growing, is that the top 15 on the list raised revenues by 35.5% year on year, with over £130m, a record figure. The WSL have eight clubs in that top 15, which cements the leagues status as the leading brand. That said, there has been a slight drop in attendances, with five clubs showing a drop since the 2023/24 campaign, which was a blazing trail after the Lionesses success.

Arsenal though have made huge strides in keeping their fanbase happy and made the steps to play all of their WSL games at the Emirates Stadium, which has seen a huge increase in attendance, with over 35,000 being topped on five occasions.

Jennifer Haskel, who is the knowledge and insight lead at Deloitte, spoke about how the increase in revenue was down to how WSL clubs are being more creative, and listening to their fans more, especially as they are the lifeblood of any club.

“The women’s game is beginning to carve its own path with new and expanded brand partnerships, new ticketing strategies, and dedication to truly understanding the evolving fanbase. The topline growth reflects the innovation and commercially focused mindset in some of the game’s leading markets.”

Arsenal are currently 10 points off leaders Manchester City in the WSL, and finished just outside the top four automatic qualifying spots in the Champions League so have a two legged tie against Belgian side OH Leuven. They are still in the FA Cup after a 2-0 win at home against Aston Villa, and in the hunt for a fourth trophy with a Subway League Cup semi-final against Manchester United this Wednesday.
