Aston Villa star Alisha Lehmann could be joining partner Douglas Luiz in moving to Italian giants Juventus as part of the deal to take the Brazilian to Italy, according to outlet il Bianco Nero.

Juventus are keen on securing the signing of midfielder Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa, including players Weston McKennie and Samuel Iling-Junior as part of the deal, according to Fabrizio Romano. However, it has now emerged that Lehmann could follow her partner to Italy as part of the negotiations for the Brazillian.

Lehmann’s deal at Villa Park currently runs until 2026, meaning that the power is in the WSL club’s hands as they have no obligation to sell or include the forward in any deal. The Italian club is reportedly being urged by Luiz to also sign the 25-year-old in a move that would mean the couple would remain in the same country.

A Smart Deal For Juventus?

Despite being reportedly part of the Luiz deal, a move for Lehmann could be seen as a smart move for Juventus Women. The 25-year-old has become one of the faces of the women’s game, becoming the most followed women’s footballer in the world on Instagram. She is also an incredibly talented player, after spending time at BSC YB Frauen, she spent time at West Ham United and Everton before linking up with Aston Villa in 2021. Lehmann is also a Swiss international, having appeared 53 times scoring on nine occasions for her country. It could be a good deal for the club both on the pitch and commercially.

Including the deal, however, as part of a deal for the men’s side may be a first for the sport. It is unusual to see a couple both move as part of the same deal from one club to another to remain close to each other. In terms of logistically for the pair it makes sense, Juventus is a huge club and both are highly regarded. For Juventus they could be signing two of the biggest up and coming stars in world football.
