Update on Superstar Asuka’s Road to Recovery and Her Journey Back to the WWE Ring

WWE Asuka

WWE Superstar Asuka recently provided an update on her ongoing knee injury recovery through a YouTube video. It gave a glimpse into Asuka’s rehabilitation process, highlighting the challenges she has faced and the progress Asuka has made.

In the video, Asuka discussed the knee surgery that she underwent in June and the rehabilitation that began shortly after. Asuka expressed gratitude for the support she received from Dr. Itami at the Takatsuki Red Cross Hospital in Osaka, Japan. The doctor played an important role in helping Asuka relearn how to walk properly, as it was noticeable at the beginning of her rehab that Asuka’s gait was very unbalanced.

Asuka’s impact in WWE

Like her career recovery journey, Asuka’s career has been a display of perseverance and determination, with her remaining optimistic even in the face of temporary setbacks. Loved by fans and highly respected by her peers, the wrestling world patiently awaits the return to the ring of  “The Empress of Tomorrow”, a prominent Superstar who is considered by many to be one of the greatest wrestlers of all time.

A Grand Slam Champion with a unique style and top-level in-ring skills, Asuka’s absence from WWE-TV is very noticeable. She arrived in the company as a charismatic submission master, and later embraced a more comedic style while still utilizing her superb wrestling talent. This evolution makes Asuka appealing to wrestling fans of all types.

Last seen tag teaming with Kairi Sane as the Kabuki Warriors in the Damage CTRL faction, Asuka is a top name and one of the aspects of WWE that keeps fans talking- and when it comes to the show now, where there’s talk, there’s the potential for higher viewership numbers.

The power of social media

Along with being talented, Asuka always displays that she has a great mind for the business. Even now, Asuka continues to introduce her life on her YouTube channel, connecting with fans. Asuka is too popular to ever become a case of “out of sight, out of mind”, but her online presence ensures that, “The Empress” remains a constant in her fans’ lives.

A good example of this was in January 2023, when Asuka’s character obviously had been going through changes in recent weeks, and although she wasn’t on WWE-TV at the time, Asuka continued her storyline on her YouTube channel, as her character searched in Japan for something she left behind, which was later revealed to be the clown persona that she used in Japan. Along with continuing her storyline, Asuka’s videos’ views went up while visitors came to her channel to see the foods that Asuka ate and the places and locations that she was in during her time in Japan. Many people are interested in Japan, and her views were evidence of this, as her YouTube channel views experienced an increase of at least 4,000 almost every week since the time that she began her storyline in Japan on YouTube.

A look ahead

Fans will surely once again keep an eye on Asuka’s YouTube channel, as she gives updates on her recovery progress. When Asuka makes her return to the ring, whether she resumes her tag team with Kairi Sane, or has a singles feud with another established name on the Raw brand like Natalya or one of the newer faces like Lyra Valkyria, Asuka will add energy and excitement to the WWE Women’s division, providing the Universe with unforgettable moments.
