League One Bolton Wanderers are keen on Charlton Athletic striker Gassan Ahadme after a deal for Celtic’s Johnny Kenny hits a stumbling block.
Fresh off the back of completing a deal for Lincoln City’s in-demand midfielder Ethan Erhahon, Bolton are keen to add further firepower to their squad. They have already added Sam Dalby as well as defender Richard Taylor, midfielder Xavier Simons and winger Thierry Gale amongst others.
They have identified Charlton striker Gassan Ahadme as a potential target, following the Addicks move for Charlie Kelman.
Steven Schumacher’s side had been hoping to secure Johnny Kenny, but a deal appears less likely.
Charlton Athletic Striker Identified for Bolton Wanderers Transfer
Gassan Ahadme joined Charlton from Ipswich Town in 2024, following spells at Cambridge United, Burton Albion, Norwich City, Portsmouth and Oviedo Vetusta.
He has gone on to make just 23 appearances for the club, scoring four goals after a difficult season that saw him sidelined for periods. In 2025 he was only able to play nine minutes of League One football before the season ended and was not in the squad for the play-offs.
Now according to Darren Witcoop, he could be on the move to the Toughsheet this summer.
Bolton Wanderers Offered Leyton Orient Target as Alternative
However, one alternative could be Alfie Lloyd, who has been offered to the club by Championship side QPR. It is unknown at this stage how serious Bolton’s interest is in the player, but Leyton Orient are keen on securing a loan deal.
The 22-year-old played a minor role in QPR’s 24/25 campaign, making 27 Championship appearances, scoring twice. He has previously had a successful loan spell at National League side Eastleigh in 22/23 scoring five in 20.
Bolton are amongst the favourites for a League One promotion push and the club are showing ambition in the transfer window so far.
