Bradford City are reportedly weighing up a loan move for Crystal Palace starlet Hindolo Mustapha.
The Bantams have had an excellent start to life back in League One, and look set to challenge for an automatic promotion place as the second half of the season begins.
Some business is expected to happen in both directions at Valley Parade, and they could make their first incoming signing relatively quickly, according to a new report from GiveMeSport’s Crystal Palace correspondent Bobby Manzi.
Mustapha Could Continue Eagles-Bantams Alliance
According to Manzi, Graham Alexander and his side are keen on a loan move for Hindolo Mustapha, who has been a long-term target for multiple EFL clubs in the past year.
It had been reported that both Walsall and Portsmouth were potential destinations for the 19-year-old, with John Mousinho personally attending matches to watch the attacking midfielder in the Under-21s squad.
Prior to his move to Europe, Mustapha was highly rated for his performances in the Premier League 2 competition, which saw him become a finalist for the Player of the Season award and earn a new contract at Selhurst Park up until 2028.
Ultimately, he opted against a move down the divisions in England to join Nurnberg in Germany’s 2. Bundesliga. However, his time under Miroslav Klose was far from ideal, failing to register a single senior appearance for the club and ultimately having his loan move terminated early in December.
Now, a potential switch to Bradford could be on the cards, which would make it three seasons out of the last four that the reigning FA Cup champions sent one of their youth talents to West Yorkshire, with Scott Banks and Tayo Adaramola also playing in claret and amber.
Midfield Shakeup Likely
Reports have been circulating about potential outgoings for City this January window, particularly around attacking midfielder Alex Pattison, who was absent from the matchday squad that beat Port Vale in their last game of 2025.
The Telegraph and Argus have previously reported that the Bantams’ boss wants a new loan signing within the first week of the window opening, giving further credence to a potential move for Mustapha.
While he is yet to make his mark in senior football, there has been a lot of optimism around what Palace’s talented youngster can do, but may find it hard to get a place in the team considering the consistency of players like Antoni Sarcevic and to a lesser extent Tyreik Wright this campaign.
