Burnley Battle Brighton and Brentford for Bristol Rovers Star

Premier League duo Brighton and Hove Albion and Brentford have been joined by Championship side Burnley in the hunt for League One Bristol Rovers midfielder Kofi Shaw, who has been on loan at National League side Yeovil earlier in the season.

The three clubs all had scouts in attendance to watch The Gas lose 1-0 to promotion chasing Bolton Wanderers. Shaw started the game and played for 77 minutes before being substituted for Isaac Hutchinson. SofaScore awarded him a score of 6.6.

Inigo Calderon has trusted the youngster since he took charge of the League One side with the 19-year-old starting the last seven games despite the pressure the club find themselves under.

Kofi Shaw Attracts Top Flight Interest

Brentford and Brighton in particular are known for finding young stars pre-peak and turning them into solid Premier League players, so it is no surprise to see the two watching the midfielder according to Alan Nixon.

Credit for the interest

Shaw should take a huge amount of credit for how he has progressed this season, more experienced and established players than him have struggled to take the step up from the National League to League One football. He has not only found himself in the squad but also a regular starting spot in the team.

Bristol Rovers Struggle to Survive

Bristol Rovers are living life dangerously, they are dangling over the relegation zone with just a few games to go. Fortunately the sides below them appear to be unwilling to take advantage of the Gas’s poor form. Burton Albion do hold a game in hand on their relegation threatened rivals but their inconsistent form makes it less likely they will take advantage of it.

The Gas still have games against Blackpool, Reading and Wrexham to come who are all hunting for promotion, meaning their best opportunities could come against Stevenage and Exeter City.
