Championship side Burnley are set to loan out Dara Costelloe to League One Northampton Town, after recalling him from Accrington Stanley earlier in the transfer window.
The 22-year-old joined Stanley in August, going on to make 21 appearances and score five goals during his time with the League Two club. Last week his parent club Burnley opted to recall him, with the intent of sending him back out on loan.
According to Alan Nixon, Fleetwood Town and Stevenage were keen on the striker, but it appears as though a move to the Cobblers is the most likely outcome.
On his paid Patreon he states:

Northampton’s Difficult Second Half of the Season
Northampton Town are one of a handful of clubs dangerously close to the relegation zone, with a three point buffer they may feel as though they have their own future in their hands.
However, Burton Albion in particular have drastically improved their form winning their last three league games in a row. In fact all four of the relegation sides have gained ground on the Cobblers over the past three games. They are the only side in the bottom seven to be winless in their last three games.
As the joint second lowest scorers in the league, only behind Stevenage and on par with Bristol Rovers, the club drastically need to find more goals if they have any chance of surviving.
The January market can be difficult and with some strikers moving for seven figure sums it can be difficult to compete for top talent. Costelloe hasn’t set the world alight but he has been a solid performer in the league below and could at least improve the clubs output going into the second half of the season.
