Burnley have seen a recent bid for Millwall star Zian Flemming rejected as the Clarets seek reinforcements before the end of the transfer window.
Many clubs in the Championship have seen a huge turnover in their squad throughout this transfer window.
Burnley are not an exception to this, with them seeing many players leave after their relegation back into the second tier.
Key players such as Wilson Odobert, Sander Berge, and Dara O’Shea who were all vital to their Premier League side have departed the club in recent weeks, meaning the club needs new players quickly.
They could have a new midfield option soon, as they are trying to sign a star from a Championship rival before Friday’s deadline.
Flemming to Burnley?
According to Richard Cawley, Burnley have seen a loan bid with an obligation to buy Millwall midfielder Zian Flemming rejected.
Time is running out in the transfer window and the Clarets will need to make an improved bid quickly if they are to sign anyone before the end of the window.
Flemming joined Millwall in 2022 from Dutch side Fortuna Sittard and has been incredibly impressive for the London club since his arrival.
In his first season, he made 44 appearances for the Lions, scoring 15 times and assisting three as they narrowly missed out on a playoff spot on the final day.
He followed this up by making a further 48 appearances last season as he found the net eight times and assisted six as the Lions struggled a lot more to a 13th-placed finish.
His form has caught the eye of many top clubs throughout his time at Millwall, and it is no surprise that they are having to knock bids back in the latter stages of the transfer window.
Will He Leave?
It would take a huge deal to convince Millwall to sell one of their star players on the final day of the transfer window.
The likelihood is, that the Lions would need to find a replacement before tomorrow’s deadline if they are to let Flemming join the Clarets.
There is also the factor of selling the player to a Championship rival, as this is something that they would want to avoid at all costs to not give their rivals an advantage this season.
