Cardiff City have given a green light to one of their attacking outlets in order to complete a loan switch away from the Championship side until the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
The Blues are currently enrolled in an ongoing battle to avoid relegation down to League One and this has meant new players have arrived which in-turn would free up others to head out on loan.
One such player is academy forward Michael Reindorf, who’s set to complete a loan move away from the football club before the end of the window.
According to a report via journalist Pete O’Rourke, Cardiff City have accepted a loan offer from League Two promotion chasers Notts County for Reindorf and a move is thought to be close.
How has he fared this season?
The 19-year-old has featured in a handful of matches for the Bluebirds so far this season, but hasn’t managed to take the spot away from Callum Robinson.
In all competitions this season, Reindorf has made four first-team appearances, and has provided one assist which came during an EFL Cup defeat against Southampton.
In terms of youth football, the forward has featured regularly for Cardiff City’s U21s this season and has established a strong goalscoring record.
Within his six appearances this season, he’s scored ten goals, including a hat-trick against Welsh side Pontypridd United during a League Cup match in August.
Can he help fire his new team to promotion?
Currently, Notts County find themselves in an ongoing battle to secure promotion back to League One, sitting sixth in League Two, just two points shy of the automatic promotion places.
After losing Macaulay Langstaff in the summer to Millwall, David McGoldrick and Alassana Jatta have scored 24 combined goals, but the addition of a youthful forward could prove to be a welcomed addition for Stuart Maynard’s side.
Although he is unproven at senior level, his record in youth football this season suggests that he certainly knows where the back of the net is and that could be huge for Notts County’s promotion aspirations.
