Cardiff City Set To Sign Bundesliga Striker

Championship side Cardiff City have made a strong start to their summer window so far and business looks set to continue, as a new striker is closing in on a move.

The Bluebirds have begun a very important summer transfer window with the signings of talented QPR winger Chris Willock and experienced Aston Villa and ex-Arsenal defender Calum Chambers, offering much talent and natural ability across both acquisitions.

Signing number three looks set to be happening reportedly soon, as an experienced striker is set to arrive.

With the club needing a striker this summer, as only Isaak Davies, Callum Robinson and Kion Etete survive from the previous season, the 26-year-old Ivory Coast international arriving from the Bundesliga, could be the man to make the difference.

Kanga to South Wales?

According to a report via Wales Online, striker Wilfred Kanga is closing in on a temporary switch to the Championship side ahead of their season opener.

Wilfred is a former youth prospect of European giants Paris Saint-Germain, but failed to make a single senior football appearance for Les Parisiens.

He would move on loan to Créteil for the 2016-17 season, scoring five goals in 24 appearances in the Championnat National, the third tier of French football.

He would then complete three seasons with French club Angers before spells in both Turkey and Switzerland and Germany ahead of the 2022-23 season and scored 12 goals in 36 league games whilst on loan at Standard Liège during the 2023-24 season.

He’s a physical presence up front and with his goalscoring record last season, he has the ability to become a leading attacking force for the Bluebirds.

His physical attributes, his ability to get into the right areas at the right time and the way he fluently strides into the box makes him an effective forward for Championship level.

Is he worth the risk?

Cardiff City have an opportunity to push further up the table during the 2024-25 Championship season and this signing could make a significant difference to their play-off aspirations.

A medical is reportedly scheduled this week, so it could only be a matter of time before the Bluebirds announce their third signing of the summer.
