West Bromwich Albion youngster Caleb Taylor joins in form League One side Bolton Wanderers on loan until the end of the season, as confirmed via a statement on the club’s website.
The 21-year-old English central defender has only featured in three matches for West Bromwich Albion who are currently placed 5th in the Championship table. He joins Bolton Wanderers who are currently placed second in League One and are only 3 points behind top-of-the-table Portsmouth with three games in hand.
Taylor spent the 2022/23 season on loan at fellow League One side Cheltenham Town in an impressive stint which saw Taylor feature 49 times and scoring twice for The Robins.
Taylor will join the ranks under Bolton Wanderer’s manager Ian Evatt as they look to achieve promotion to the Championship after a steady rise since their back-to-back relegations in the 2018/19 season from the Championship, and 2019/20 season from League One.
Bolton narrowly missed out on promotion via the playoffs last season after finishing 5th in the league, where a 1-0 loss in the second leg of a semi-final tie against Barnsley saw the promotion hope come to an end. Evatt along with Bolton supporters will be keen to obtain automatic promotion this time around, as they undoubtedly hope the loan signing of Taylor will help them in their mission to do so.
Taylor will play alongside fellow loan signings that the club has made this January including Calvin Ramsay (on loan from Liverpool), and Nathanael Ogbeta (on loan from Swansea City).

I think that this is one of many smart signings so far this season for both the player and the club. Caleb Taylor proved his ability many times during his loan spell at Cheltenham Town and in the few appearances for West Brom, and I believe he will benefit significantly, especially if he is playing frequently.
I will be surprised if Bolton Wanderers do not gain automatic promotion this season due to having such as high-quality squad for League One, and I expect them to finish top come the end of the season.
