Hull City’s Championship goalkeeper Thimothee Lo-Tutala has been spotted in attendance of League One Wrexham’s Vertu Trophy fixture against Crewe Alexandra, prompting speculation over a January signing.

Eagle-eyed Wrexham fans spotted Lo-Tutala at the STōK Cae Ras stadium last night, with one fan Gareth Edwards claiming that he met up with manager Phil Parkinson. The former Doncaster Rovers, Stevenage and Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper is currently contracted to Hull City until 2028.

The Welsh side have had issues in the goalkeeping department with Brad Foster recently joining the club on a short-term deal as cover for Callum Burton and Arthur Okonkwo who are both out injured.

Foster played the full 90 minutes as Wrexham came out 1-0 victors and according to reports played well. Lo-Tutala could be eyed up by Parkinson as a potential longer-term solution to their ongoing goalkeeping issues with a loan spell for the second half of the season a likely solution to the problem should Foster leave at the conclusion of his short-term deal.

Cursed Wrexham Goalkeepers

Having a goalkeeper injured is tricky for any team to navigate, having to rely on the second-choice option and hope they can get up to speed quickly. But to lose both in a short spell can seriously derail a season.

So much of the defensive play is organised by and controlled by the goalkeeper it can cause mistakes to occur. Defenders need to know when a goalkeeper is likely to come for the ball, when they need support and when to position themselves to aid the transition of play.

A short-term option such as Foster can provide some success but in the longer term the club need someone, they can rely upon so the defensive unit can learn how to play with the man between the sticks. A six-month loan spell will at least provide some extended period of time to get to know each other which should ultimately benefit the side as they push for promotion.

However, this is purely speculation, and the player could just be visiting the ground to watch the game.
