The regular season is done and dusted in the Championship. Leeds United and Burnley were the dominant forces, finishing on 100 points.
There were also some eye-catching individual performances across the league, which have been recognised by Sofascore with a 10/10 rating. Here are the five Championship players to receive a 10 rating this season.
Joel Piroe – Leeds United 6-0 Stoke City
Leeds United forward Joel Piroe finished the season as the top scorer in the league with 19 goals for the champions.
One standout game for Piroe was his display against Stoke City in the second half of the season.
In 66 minutes, the attacker scored four of Leeds United’s six goals. His four goals in the game exceeded his expected goals (xG) of 1.35.
Impressively, Piroe scored with every shot he had in the game and left the field to a standing ovation from the Elland Road faithful.
The 25-year-old finished the Championship season with an average Sofascore rating of 7.08, the 12th highest in the Leeds United squad.
Callum Lang – Portsmouth 4-1 Coventry
Midfielder Callum Lang produced a Christmas 10 rating performance against Coventry City. The 26-year-old scored four against Coventry in Pompey’s big win.
As well as scoring all the goals for Pompey, Lang produced one key pass and completed 67% of his passes in the game. He also won five of his nine ground duels and two of his three aerial duels.
Across the season, Lang received an average rating of 6.78 for Portsmouth, the 10th highest in the club. He was also the second-highest scorer for the club with 10, finishing one goal behind Cody Bishop.
Vakoun Issouf Bayo – Sheffield Wednesday 2-6 Watford
Vakoun Issouf Bayo had scored just one goal before Watford’s trip to Sheffield Wednesday in November but added four more goals to his name at Hillsborough.
Bayo scored four of his six attempts, as well as scoring the penalty he won. The forward also had one key pass in the game and completed 10 out of his 15 passes.
The 28-year-old will return to Udinese this summer with 10 Championship goals to his name and an average Sofascore rating of 6.71 this season.
Haji Wright – Coventry City 3-0 Sunderland
Coventry City’s impressive form under Frank Lampard landed them in the play-offs. Their 3-0 home victory against Sunderland, who they would lose out to in the play-off semi-final, was a big boost to their play-off hopes at the time.
Haji Wright was the standout player that day, receiving a 10 rating thanks to three goals and one key pass in the game.
The American finished the season with an average rating of 7.13, the third-highest rating in the Coventry City side. Wright also finished the season as Coventry’s top scorer with 12 goals.
Tom Cannon – Stoke City 6-1 Portsmouth
The final player on the list of Championship players to receive a 10 rating from Sofascore is Tom Cannon.
The forward was on loan at Stoke City in the first half of the season, which is when his 10/10 performance came. He scored four goals against Portsmouth, including one from the spot.
His goals in the first half of the season earned him a permanent move to Sheffield United in January. The 22-year-old didn’t recapture his Stoke form at the Blades but did finish the season on 10 goals.
