Nathan Jones Confirms Charlton Athletic Injury Blow

Charlton Athletic injury News

Nathan Jones has confirmed a Charlton Athletic injury blow to forward Miles Leaburn, who is set to see a specialist. The League One promotion hopefuls fell to a 3-0 defeat to Peterborough United today.

The forward was absent from today’s matchday squad for the trip to Peterborough United with Tyreece Campbell and Matty Godden in the starting line-up and Chuks Aneke and Gassan Ahadme on the bench.

However, they were unable to stop the Addicks from falling to a 3-0 loss despite registering 25 shots. Jones praised the Posh attackers claiming that they are “up there with any in the league.

“They are very, very good. That is as good a front four as anyone in the league. Where they are in the league means they probably aren’t like that week in and week out, but they are a well-coached side with real threats. Today we didn’t show enough quality to punish them and when they had the opportunities they did punish us.

“When you go to sleep against these they can carve you open because they have really good players. I can look at them and give them credit for how their attacking players played but we needed to be better from an attacking viewpoint.”

Charlton Athletic Injury – Miles Leaburn to see specialist

Nathan Jones spoke after today’s fixture about the forward’s injury confirming that it was picked up in the week on the training ground. (Quotes from South London Press’s Richard Cawley)

“He picked up an injury in training on Tuesday – very innocuous – so we will see where it is,”

“Any injury that people pick up, we have a scan and then we see a specialist to see how we move forward with those things.

“That is what is happening with Miles.”

Leaburn has scored 10 goals in 35 appearances in all competitions for Charlton Athletic this season.

Charlton Athletic Still on for Potential Promotion Despite Defeat

Charlton Athletic are on the course for at least a spot in the play-offs despite the defeat to Peterborough United. However, their chance of securing one of the two automatic promotion spots took a serious blow as they fell eight points behind second place Wrexham in the League One table.

On paper this looks like a game that should have been a comfortable victory for Charlton, fourth against 15th. But this Peterborough United side are starting to show some of their spark that they lacked earlier in the season.

Darren Ferguson’s side have been consistently inconsistent and do boast some of the best attacking talent in the league. So a loss to them is not as poor as it first looks. Especially when considering the shear quantity of shots produced by the Addicks. However, it would be hard to argue that they can overcome Wrexham with just eight games remaining. However, their upwards momentum should land them in a good position to hit the League One play-offs.
