Charlton Athletic midfielder Aaron Henry has completed a return to National League side Wealdstone, as confirmed via a statement on the club’s website.
The 20-year-old has confirmed his return to the football club on a short-term loan deal to help Stuart Maynard’s side push towards the National League playoff places this season.
Henry made 17 appearances for League Two side Crawley Town during the first half of the 2023/24 season but the midfielder failed to contribute to a goal or assist for the club and has since been recalled by Charlton Atheltic before moving back out on loan.
The young midfielder hasn’t featured in league competition since the end of November during a 3-1 loss against Notts County which ironically was his last start for the club too.
Wealdstone have developed a strong working relationship with the League One side in recent seasons, which has seen numerous young talents joining the National League side on loan and Henry is the latest example of the partnership.
Stuart Maynard’s side are one of the few remaining part-time sides currently operating in the National League but are continuing to defy expectations as they continue to push towards an unlikely top seven finish.
The football club currently sit 12th in the National League, sitting seven points outside of the playoff places whilst having two games in hand on several sides around them in the latest standings.
Upon signing for the club, Henry stated…
“This is the perfect place for me to be now. I’ve always been watching and looking at how Wealdstone are doing and I think we’ve got a good chance to do something really good here this year, we’re in a lot higher position than when I joined last time too.
“I already know half the squad and more, Charlie Barker’s here who I came through with at Charlton and the staff have always been welcoming and really good with me since I was last here, so I’m really looking forward to being back.”
