Charlton have reportedly shown an interest in Arsenal starlet Charles Sagoe, as reported by TEAMtalk.
The 19-year-old forward made his senior debut for the Gunners against Brentford in the Carabao Cup. That 68-minute outing in the first team was reward for the incredible form he has displayed in the youth setup in North London.
Sagoe has been a mainstay in the PL2 with the Gunners, scoring once and providing six assists for the side. Also appearing in the EFL Trophy and the UEFA Youth League, Sagoe has scored two and provided four assists in eight appearances across both competitions.
Charlton are not the only side in League One to show interest in the teenager, with Barnsley and Reading also said to be lining up a loan move for the 19-year-old. There is also interest from the Championship from struggling Millwall.
The teenager is highly rated by many at the Emirates, with the Gunners willing to listen to offers for the forward. His first-team appearance against Brentford has left the youngster wanting more senior football, and Arsenal are willing to allow him to move out on loan to get that.
Charlton will be looking for a creative player this window to create more for new arrival Alfie May, who still tops the scoring charts in League One. The Addicks have a reputation for developing loan players, taking Jesurun Rak-Sakyi on loan last season, who is now getting first-team chances at Crystal Palace. They also nurture young players within the club, Miles Leaburn being one example who now thrives in the setup at the Valley.

Sagoe is a top prospect for Arsenal, and a loan move is a fantastic opportunity. Martin Odegaard hailed Sagoe’s performance after his debut against Brentford, showing that the only way is up for the teenager. Any of the clubs interested would be a good switch for the teenager, allowing him senior football to aid his development. Charlton would be the best choice for him, allowing him to work with one of the best goalscorers in League One.
