Forest Green Rovers are hopeful of securing the loan signing of forward Aidan Dausch from Championship side Coventry City.
The American youth international could become the second Sky Blues player to make the switch to Robbie Savage’s side, following the earlier arrival of midfielder Isaac Moore on a season-long loan deal.
Following his impressive 2024/25 campaign and his rise into the international stage, it appears as though the forward is chasing minutes next season as he continues his development.
Dausch set for Coventry exit
As reported by journalist Dan Bennett, Forest Green Rovers remain hopeful of concluding a loan deal to sign Coventry City forward Aidan Dausch on loan.
The 19-year-old finished the previous season on loan with National League South side St. Albans City, where he impressed during his first proper taste of men’s senior football.
Dausch has featured in the Championship previously under Mark Robins but is yet to make an appearance under Frank Lampard and now faces a highly likely prospect of heading out on loan this summer.
How did he fare last season?
After hitting double figures during the 2023/24 campaign, Dausch headed into the new season full of confidence and belief and was very quickly selected to represent the United States at U19s level.
His impressive performances for Coventry’s U21s continued throughout the first half of the season and even saw him score five goals in a single game, as the Sky Blues beat Colchester United 13-0.
Hours before Coventry‘s FA Cup clash against Ipswich Town, Dauch’s move to National League South side St. Albans City was confirmed.
He joined on a loan deal for the remainder of the season, scoring twice in nine appearances before seeing his season cut short early due to a hamstring injury.
What can he bring to Forest Green?
Dausch has proven to be a very reliable goalscorer for Coventry’s U21s and is rated highly by almost everyone surrounding the football club, so much so that there’s an argument to him being ‘too good’ for youth football.
Forest Green have the likes of Harry Cardwell and Christian Doidge at their disposal, providing good experience and leadership for a player like Dausch.
He is likely to play up front but also has traits that could allow him to be deployed out wide if required.
Dausch has also hit double figures in back to back seasons at youth level, proving he knows exactly where the back of the net is for his side.
