Crystal Palace have reportedly sanctioned another loan move for Irish left-back Tayo Adaramola after the player spent the first half of the campaign at Stockport County in League One.
The 21-year-old played just eight times for Stockport County and seen his move to the third tier heavily disrupted due to multiple injuries. It now appears he will be given another opportunity to play regular football in the second half of the season.
Crystal Palace Left-Back Needs Regular Football to Progress
Adaramola has struggled for regular minutes since graduating to senior football from the Premier League side’s academy.
The left-back has had loan spells at Coventry City and RWD Molenbeek in addition to his spell in League One but has so far accumulated just 27 appearances.
His only game time at Crystal Palace came in the form of two FA Cup appearances in the Eagles’ run to the semi-finals in 2022.
According to Alan Nixon, League Two side Bradford City are the frontrunners to secure his services until the end of the campaign after reportedly beating other clubs to his signature.
Bradford City System May Suit Incoming Defender
Graham Alexander has been in charge of the Bantams since November 2023 and has impressed, winning 35 of his 71 matches in charge.
The manager favours a three-at-the-back formation and that opens up the possibility of Adaramola playing as a wing-back.
Lewis Richards has been impressive on the left in a wing-back / defensive midfield role but there is little in terms of adequate cover.
Richards is accomplished on the ball but he lacks the attacking output in that role that Adaramola can offer if the Crystal Palace defender can get a regular run of games.
The Ireland under-21 international has impressive numbers at development level in terms of assists. He has also been a feature in setting up goals at underage level for Ireland but it is his injury record that is the greatest obstacle to getting the most out of the player.
If Bradford City can keep Adaramola fit then he should be an excellent addition to a side that are very much in contention for an automatic promotion place.
