Derby County Pursue Double Lincoln City Transfer – Sources

Derby County

Championship side Derby County have been revealed to be pursuing a second Lincoln City player, shortly after THE DECK exclusively reported that they were interested in Paudie O’Connor this summer.

Sources close to THE DECK provided details on Derby County and Stoke City’s interest in out-of-contract Lincoln City captain Paudie O’Connor, who has also been linked to Huddersfield Town and Barnsley elsewhere.

The Irishman had been offered a new deal to remain at the LNER stadium, however the Imps simply cannot compete with the higher offers on the table.

Now The Rams could be set to turn their attention to another of Michael Skubala’s stars.

Derby County Interested in Lincoln City Midfielder

Potentially joining O’Connor next year in the Championship is midfielder Ethan Erhahon. The former Saint Mirren man is highly regarded in League One, and has attracted firm interest in the past. However, Lincoln City hold a long term contract with the player, and it will likely take a record transfer offer reaching seven figures for the club to accept his departure.

Derby do have competition however, Blackburn Rovers, Millwall, Blackburn Rovers, Oxford United, Plymouth Argyle and Preston North End are all reportedly interested in the player.

That is according to Graeme Bailey who reported the news earlier today.

Erhahon has 107 appearances for the Imps, but did a spell on the sidelines last season through injury and was only able to appear in 31 league games.

Three Stars Set to Depart? – Could More Follow?

Paudie O’Connor is moving closer to the exit door, and despite Michael Skubala’s declaration to the BBC that he could remain at Sincil Bank next season, it is highly unlikely considering the money and opportunities on the table from elsewhere.

Sean Roughan is also set to leave as his contract comes to an end, however due to his age The Imps are due a compensation package, which they have reportedly agreed with an unknown club.

The loss of Ethan Erhahon would be a loss, however, with the sizeable fee set to hit the bank account and the need to bolster the squad across the pitch it may not be such a bad thing for the club to see him go.
