“Everyone goes on about Wrexham” – Pundits Give their View on Mansfield Town’s Push up the Table

League One this year is highly competitive, with some heavy hitters in the form of Birmingham City and Huddersfield Town amongst others, however it is the promoted League Two sides that have caught the eye so far.

Stockport County, along with Wrexham and Mansfield Town were all promoted to the third-tier last season, with Crawley Town. The “Hollywood” factor has so far taken the majority of the media spotlight after some early praise for Stockport County as they came sprinting out of the blocks. However Wrexham are currently level on points with fellow promoted side Mansfield Town, who have somewhat gone under the radar recording four straight victories to storm their way up the table into third place.

Whilst few expected them to be relegated from the league, many thought they would be in for a season of adjustment and consolidation. Whilst it could be argued that the set of fixtures, they have faced to date are easier than some of the other times towards the top of the table, having faced all four of the teams currently occupying the relegation spots credit must be given for maintaining their momentum they accumulated last season, with the exception of a thrashing at the hands of local rivals Lincoln City.

What have the League One Lowdown said on Mansfield Town?

Speaking on this week’s edition of the League One Lowdown podcast, hosts Sam and Callum had their say on Mansfield Town’s start.
