Exclusive: National League Side To Clinch Signing Of Former Notts County Winger

A former Notts County winger has agreed a deal to sign for a National League side, in a bid to help resurrect their season after a disappointing start to the campaign.

The football club in question have suffered an extremely disappointing start to the 2024/25 campaign thus far, although there is still 40 league matches left to play so all is not quite lost.

They will likely be hopeful that their latest recruit can help kickstart their campaign, especially as they remain without a victory this season.

Randall set for National League switch

Former Notts County winger Will Randall is set to join National League side Ebbsfleet United on a free transfer, for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign, sources have informed The Deck.

The 27-year-old has been without a club since he departed from the Magpies in July after a frustrating debut season following his initial switch from now-National League side Sutton United.

The winger is all set to sign for the football club before their trip to Altrincham next weekend.

How did Randall fare at Notts County?

After his four-year stint with Sutton United came to an end, Randall signed for Notts County upon their promotion back to the EFL after they beat Chesterfield on penalties at Wembley Stadium.

Randall was handed his Magpies debut during an EFL Trophy group-stage match against Wolverhampton Wanderers U21s, but suffered a tricky campaign as a result of injuries and tactical alterations.

In total, the 27-year-old made 13 first-team appearances for Stuart Maynard’s side, starting just three times and contributing an assist during a 5-2 defeat against Stockport County.

However, during his time at Sutton United he won the National League title and helped his side to reach the EFL Trophy final at Wembley.

What effect could this signing have for Ebbsfleet?

Currently, Ebbsfleet United sit bottom of the National League standings with just one point from their opening six matches.

They have also scored just four goals thus far and have conceded an eye-catching 14 times in what’s been a challenging start for Danny Searle’s side.

An injury to Dominic Samuel and a lack of goals is likely an explanation behind Ebbsfleet’s need to strengthen their options in the final third and this addition could spring life back into the football club as they continue to push for their first victory of the campaign.
