Exeter City Agree Deal to Sign Premier League Winger

Exeter City

Exeter City have agreed to the signing of young winger Tony Yogane from Premier League side Brentford until the end of the season.

As reported by the League One club, the 19-year-old’s move will be his first in professional football after coming up through the Sheffield Wednesday academy.

Yogane has featured regularly in Brentford’s squad during Premier League matches recently, with their 5-0 victory at Southampton a particular highlight.

Yogane’s Season So Far

The young winger has already had a taste of first-team life at Brentford, coming on as a sub in their Carabao Cup win against Leyton Orient at the Gtech Community Stadium.

After making the move from Sheffield Wednesday, he joined Brentford B in the summer of 2022. Since then he has been an ever-present in Neil MacFarlane’s side racking up 14 appearances in all competitions including one goal and five assists this term.

Move to Exeter City

Having featured heavily for Brentford’s B-team this season, the winger will no doubt be a loss to the side but will be looking to make his mark with the Grecians as they currently sit in 14th place in League One.

The versatile attacker’s move further strengthens City’s links with Brentford, after successful loan spells for central defender Tristan Crama and midfielder Ryan Trevitt in the last two seasons.

His trickery and skill will be a welcome addition to the squad who are on a five-game run without a league victory. He will be keen to link up with and provide chances for top-scorer Millenic Alli.

This weekend they welcome 15th placed Blackpool to St James Park managed by the experienced Steve Bruce. Last time the teams met, it was heartbreak for the Grecians. A 2-1 defeat at Bloomfield Road in September saw City equalise late on only for the home side to snatch a winner in the dying moments.

Saturday’s match may come too soon for Exeter’s new signing but fans will be excited about seeing the winger line out in weeks to come.
