Fantasy Premier League: Team of the Week Gameweek Five

Fantasy Premier League

The Fantasy Premier League Team of the Week for gameweek five recorded 123 points. We’ve looked at how each player performed and how many points they scored.

This weekend’s Premier League action included the clash between Man City and Arsenal. With so many talented players on show, you might be surprised to see just one player from that game make the team.

That’s partly thanks to some quality performances across the league this weekend. Here’s the Fantasy Premier League Team of the Week for gameweek five.

GK – Robert Sanchez, 10 points

Robert Sanchez picked up a clean sheet (four points) and two bonus points for his display in Chelsea’s impressive 3-0 win away at West Ham. The Spaniard didn’t have it easy in the game, making seven saves earning him an extra two points.

Sofascore gave Sanchez a rating of 8.9 for his performance, only beaten by Nicolas Jackson (nine). In the game, he prevented 0.82 goals and had an impressive passing success rate of 77%.

DEF – Trent Alexander-Arnold, 11 points

Trent Alexander-Arnold recorded a season-high 11 points in Liverpool’s 3-0 win against Bournemouth. It was a display worthy of a selection in the Fantasy Premier League Team of the Week for gameweek five.

Trent picked up an assist, a clean sheet, and two bonus points in the game. Add to that he picked up two points for playing 90 minutes, and Trent’s big price for a defender finally paid off for the 32.1% of managers that picked him.

Sofascore rated his performance a 7.6 against Bournemouth. As well as his one assist he created one other big chance and had a passing accuracy rate of 77%.

DEF – Ezri Konsa, 9 points

Six of Ezri Konsa’s nine points came from his goal for Aston Villa that helped them see Wolves off 3-1 at Villa Park.  This nine-point haul breaks the trend of one’s and two’s that owners of Konsa have seen during the opening games.

Konsa was given a 7.7 rating by Sofascore, the highest he’s received this season. He was a big part of their defence, winning five of his seven ground duels and completing one clearance and one interception. Konsa also had a high pass success rate of 56/58 (97%).

DEF – Diogo Dalot, 9 points

Man United’s Diogo Dalot once again impressed for the Red Devils in their 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace. He didn’t quite reach the 11 points he received last week, but with a clean sheet and three bonus points, he’s continued his impressive start.

Sofascore rated his performance at Selhurst Park as a 7.9, his highest of the season in the league. Dalot won four of his five ground duels and two of his four aerial duels. He also had an impressive passing success rate of 91% for United in the game.

DEF – Riccardo Calafiori, 9 points

The only player to feature from the City v Arsenal game, Riccardo Calafiori was thrown into the deep end for his first Premier League start but handled it well. He’ll remember his full debut for the excellent left-foot goal from outside the box that levelled the score 1-1.

Calafiori received a Sofascore average rating of 7.5 as he helped keep young Savinho at bay for most of the game. The Italian was dribbled past just twice in the game and won four of his seven ground duels.

MID – Luis Diaz, 16 points

With Liverpool’s Mo Salah in most teams, it was Luis Diaz who took the headlines at Anfield and a place on the Fantasy Premier League Team of the Week for gameweek five. The Columbian scored twice in their 3-0 win, picking up 10 extra points. He also received three bonus points and one point for their clean sheet.

He received the Player of the Match from Sofascore after receiving an average rating of 8.8. Diaz had four shots on target and could have had a hat trick, missing one big chance in the game.

MID – James Maddison, 12 points

James Maddison registered a goal and an assist in Spurs’ 3-1 win against Brentford. The midfielder also picked up three bonus points but did get a minus point for a yellow card.

As well as a season-high in Fantasy Premier League, Maddison received a season-high of 8.7 from Sofascore. On top of his goal and assist Maddison created three big chances and had two shots on target.

MID – Tyler Dibling, 11 points

18-year-old Tyler Dibling is having a dream breakthrough season. The midfielder scored his first Premier League goal against Ipswich Town and is in the Fantasy Premier League Team of the Week for gameweek five.

Dibling was substituted before Ipswich scored so still got an extra point for a clean sheet. He also received three bonus points, making the 1% of managers that have him very happy.

Sofascore rated his performance an 8, with Dibling completing 23 out of 28 passes (82%) and creating one big chance in the game. He also did his part off the ball, winning eight of his 13 ground duels.

MID – Jack Hinshelwood, 10 points

Another youngster who impressed this weekend was Jack Hinshelwood. The 19-year-old has started all five of Brighton’s games this season and looks set for a big season. He scored his first goal of the season and claimed three bonus points in their 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest.

Hinshelwood also received a season-high rating of 7.3 from Sofascore. He had a passing accuracy of 92% and made two key passes in the game. Hinshelwood won two of his four ground duels but did lose possession seven times in the game.

MID – Morgan Rogers, 10 points

The final midfielder in the Fantasy Premier League Team of the Week for gameweek five is Morgan Rogers. Slightly older than the last two at 22, Rogers is another young player showing his class.

He’s scored two points in every game so far, but that doesn’t reflect how good he’s been this season. In their win against Wolves, his display was rewarded with a 10-point haul. Rogers assisted two goals and picked up three bonus points but was deducted a point for his yellow card.

Rogers recorded a season-high Sofascore rating of 7.6 as his importance to the Villa attack was shown in the game. He completed 27 of his 33 passes (82%) and had three key passes in the game.

FWD – Nicolas Jackson, 16 points

Nicolas Jackson is the final piece of the Fantasy Premier League Team of the Week for gameweek five. Jackson picked up 16 points thanks to two goals, an assist and three bonus points. He was also named the Player of the Week for his contribution to Chelsea’s win.

Jackson was also voted the Player of the Match by Sofascore after he received a nine rating. He scored both his shots on target and created two big chances for Chelsea in the game.
