A chaotic Elimination Chamber PLE shook the landscape of WWE this past weekend.
There were two major returns in Randy Orton and Jade Cargill and a John Cena heel turn.
Cena won the men’s Elimination Chamber, whilst Bianca Belair won the women’s edition.
However, what occurred during the two chamber matches has set the company up well for two loaded nights of action at WrestleMania in April.
An honourable mention goes to Belair, who will face Iyo Sky or Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania. However, she misses the list as her opponent isn’t clear at this moment.
Sky and Ripley will square off on Monday Night Raw for the women’s world championship, with the winner facing Belair at WrestleMania.
With that said, here’s a closer look at the matches ahead of WrestleMania…
Drew McIntyre vs. Damien Priest
Drew McIntyre again let his emotions get the better of him by fixating on Seth Rollins and taking his eyes off the rest of the competition.
Damian Priest took full advantage of a distracted McIntyre by eliminating him with a roll-up.
McIntyre was irate at being eliminated by The Punisher and attacked Priest on his way out of the Chamber, which led to Logan Paul eliminating Priest.
Priest and McIntyre’s paths have crossed more than once over the past year.
The former leader of the Judgement Day cashed in his money in the bank briefcase on McIntyre last WrestleMania, winning the world heavyweight title.
Priest also eliminated McIntyre from the Royal Rumble back in January.
Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk (vs. Roman Reigns?)
Seth Rollins has been obsessed with CM Punk since he returned to WWE.
Punk cost Rollins and McIntyre the world heavyweight championship in a triple threat with Priest when he attacked the Scottish Warrior with a steel chair, with Priest pinning McIntyre.
Punk’s only loss against McIntyre came when Rollins was the special guest referee.
Punk and Seth finally went one-on-one in the main event on Monday Night Raw’s Netflix premiere on January 6th, with The Best in the World coming out on top.
The two continued their hatred for one another into the Royal Rumble.
Punk eliminated Rollins and Roman Reigns at the Rumble before being eliminated himself.
The three continued their fight outside the ring, with Rollins hitting a super curb stomp on Reigns before continuing to scrap with Punk.
Their feud continued with both Rollins and Punk being inside the Chamber this past Saturday.
Punk hit a GTS on Rollins before Cena then hit an attitude adjustment on The Revolutionary, leading to his elimination.
On his way out of the chamber, Rollins hit Punk with a curb stomp, which led to Cena locking in the STF to eliminate Punk and win the match.
Rollins v. Punk will more than likely happen at ‘Mania but will Roman Reigns also be involved.
The OTC is yet to be seen since Rollins stomped his head into the steel steps in January.
Reigns isn’t currently involved in a storyline heading in to WrestleMania.
Jade Cargill v Naomi
Jade Cargill returned at the Elimination Chamber this weekend and brutally attacked Naomi.
Cargill was wrote off WWE TV with a mystery attacker in November 2024.
At the time, Cargill and Belair were tag team champions.
Naomi partnered with Belair so the EST wouldn’t have to relinquish the titles.
Fans were led to believe that Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez attacked Cargill.
On Saturday, Morgan and Naomi were the two starting competitors in the chamber, with Bianca locked in a pod.
Jade’s music hit, but Cargill looked straight past Morgan and started to attack Naomi with a helpless Belair looking on in despair.
Whilst Belair will be facing either Sky or Ripley for the women’s championship at WrestleMania, her current and former partners will be squaring off.
Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn competed in a brutal unsanctioned match at the Elimination Chamber.
Owens came out on top with Zayn unable to stand, but that wasn’t enough for the Prize-fighter. He ripped up the protective mat on the floor and attempted to power bomb Zayn on the exposed floor, but Orton’s music hit, just in time.
Orton hadn’t been seen on WWE TV since Owens hit a package piledriver on The Viper in November 2024.
Orton and Owens started battling in the middle of the ring before security stopped Orton from hitting a punt.
John Cena w/ The Rock v Cody Rhodes
John Cena is a heel.
Yes, that actually happened. The shocking end to Elimination Chamber saw Cena sell his soul to The Rock and beat down WWE undisputed champion Cody Rhodes.
Cena had just won the Elimination Chamber match, which earned him the right to face The American Nightmare in the main event of WrestleMania.
Rhodes came out to the ring to congratulate Cena on his win before The Final Boss appeared.
The Rock then demanded an answer from Rhodes on whether or not he would give him his soul.
Rhodes’ response was to tell the Final Boss “to go F*ck himself” which sent those in attendance in Toronto wild.
Cena and Rhodes then embraced with a hug until Cena’s face quickly changed, and the Rock signalled to Cena to pull the trigger.
The 16-time world champion then low-blowed Rhodes before the two future Hall of Famers beat down the champion.
