League One Northampton Town have announced their annual retained list with 11 players set to leave the club with the futures of six or more up in the air.
Kevin Nolan has opted to clear the decks of his squad, having taken over the Cobblers in December after Jon Brady departed.
Northampton Town Retained
Only nine players have been retained:
Jordan Willis, Sam Hoskins, Tom Eaves, Nesta Guinness-Walker, Cameron McGeehan, Jack Baldwin, Liam Shaw, James Dadge, Lee Burge.
This indicates a summer of change for Nolan as he looks to forge the squad into his own style. Lee Burge had an appearance related extension triggered during the season meaning he will remain contracted at the club until 2026.
Who Could Still Join Them?
Alongside those retained, contract offers have been sent to five players, with conversations ongoing with one other player as they look to tie down a few of their out-of-contract players.
Aaron McGowan, Jon Guthrie, Mitch Pinnock, Josh Tomlinson, Max Dyche have all had offers sent to them. Whilst Tariqe Fosu is in ongoing conversations but with no formal offer.
TJ Eyoma Amongst Those Departing
11 names are on the released list for Northampton Town, including former Lincoln City man TJ Eyoma, who only joined the club in November 2024 following his release from the Imps in the summer. But his spell has not gone to plan and again finds himself on the lookout for a new club.
Players released:
Tyler Magloire, Jack Sowerby, James Wilson, Nik Tzanev, Ali Koiki, Liam McCarron, Harvey Lintott, Akin Odimayo, Will Hondermarck, TJ Eyoma, Reuben Wyatt.
Kevin Nolan will be keen to utilise the transfer window this summer to bolster his squad. With just nine players confirmed for next season with six who could potentially still stay, expect a large amount of incoming players over the summer.
