Former Lincoln City winger Jordon Garrick has been released by St Patrick’s Athletic as part of a wider reshaping of the squad ahead of the new League of Ireland season.
The Dublin club confirmed Garrick’s departure alongside Axel Sjoberg, Ryan McLaughlin, Al-Amin Kazeem and Anto Dodd. At the same time, Darren Robinson has returned to Derby County following the conclusion of his loan spell. St Patrick’s finished fifth in the Premier Division last season and have moved early to streamline the group before fixtures for the new campaign are confirmed.
Garrick joined St Pat’s in July 2025 and made a total of 12 appearances across league and cup competitions. His sole goal came in the FAI Cup quarter-final victory over Galway United. He leaves after coming in as cover for Zack Elbouzedi, another former Lincoln City winger, who was ruled out for the season in July.

The winger began his senior career at Swansea City after time in the club’s academy, having previously featured in non-league football with Ossett Albion. Loan spells followed at Swindon Town during the second half of the 2020–21 season, where he made 19 League One appearances and scored twice, and at Plymouth Argyle in 2021–22. At Home Park, he enjoyed his most productive spell to date, registering seven goals from 50 appearances across league and cup competitions.
Garrick spent the 2022–23 season on loan at Lincoln City, featuring 16 times in all competitions, including 11 League One outings, and scoring once in the EFL Cup against Barrow. He returned to Swansea City in January 2023 before completing a permanent move to Forest Green Rovers on an 18-month deal later the same day.
His time at Forest Green brought regular football, with five goals from 21 League One appearances during their relegation campaign, followed by eight League Two matches and two goals in 2023–24. After a short non-contract spell with Oldham Athletic in October 2024, Garrick returned to Forest Green in December of that year, contributing four goals from 21 appearances during the 2024–25 season before departing at its conclusion.
Elsewhere in St Patrick’s Athletic’s departures, Ryan McLaughlin leaves after two seasons and 53 appearances, having been part of the club’s 2023 FAI Cup-winning side and scoring a notable European goal away at Besiktas. Al-Amin Kazeem departs following an 18-month spell that included 38 appearances and a dramatic late winner against Shelbourne, while academy graduate Anto Dodd made four senior appearances. Darren Robinson, meanwhile, returns to Derby County after making 11 appearances during his loan spell.
What Next For Garrick?
The winger seemed a decent prospect at Plymouth, but since his Lincoln spell, his effectiveness has tumbled. A release from a League of Ireland side isn’t the best career move if he is looking up the tables, and leaving just a fortnight before the transfer window opens means he is going up against a free market, and won’t be able to use his free agent status to good effect.
A National League side may well feel there is a player in there, but he may have to bide his time until the main window shuts, when free agents see their value increase.
