Four Potential Destinations For Swindon Town’s Jake Tabor

Swindon Town manager Ian Holloway has confirmed forward Jake Tabor is likely to depart the League Two side on loan, but which club could be his ideal destination?

Speaking to BBC Wiltshire Sport, Holloway revealed the clubs current stance in regards to their Non-League hotshot and how despite various summer additions, he is still in the long-term plans.

He stated… “At the minute, he’s gone a little bit further down the pecking order, so I might loan him out, but he knows where he stands with me and it’s going to be a local place so he can train with me every day. That’s absolutely vital.”

In terms of destinations, Holloway has already confirmed that they want Tabor to stay ‘local’ in order for him to continue training with Swindon despite his loan exit. Therefore, this narrows down the list of potential suiters.

Let’s begin…

Yeovil Town (National League):

The only fifth tier option on this list is Yeovil Town, who currently find themselves 18th in the fifth tier, after a difficult start to their respective campaign.

Across their eight league matches thus far, the Glovers have lost five times and have struggled to take their magnitude of chances, despite averaging just over one goal per game so far.

Admittedly, given Swindon want him to train with them, the potential of this transfer to a ‘full-time’ side makes it unlikely – but Yeovil need a striker and it could be a brilliant opportunity for regular minutes at a competitive level.

Chippenham Town (National League South):

Talking of sides that have had difficult starts to their respective seasons, Chippenham Town currently find themselves 22nd in the National League South and scoring goals has been a major problem so far.

Across their opening eight league games, Chippenham have scored just eight goals and are winless in seven of their opening matches.

Both Swindon and Chippenham played against each other as recently as July 2025, suggesting there is a likelihood in which the two clubs have build up an established relationship, potentially working in Tabor’s favour.

Bath City (National League South):

A run off four matches without a win and scoring just seven goals in eight league games has created a scenario in which Bath City may find themselves in the market for a striker in the coming days/weeks.

Looking at their lack of goals suggests that creativity is a problem for the football club at present, and this could create a scenario in which Tabor can become the main man during his loan stint.

The two clubs have previously build a successful relationship in terms of loanees between each other and this could play out as a potential option once again.

Hereford FC (National League North):

Currently, Hereford have had a difficult start to their respective campaign as well, losing half of their opening matches and barely managing an average of one goal per game in league competition so far.

Hereford have some challenging fixtures on the horizon including the visit of Macclesfield and adding a proven Non-League goalscorer could be a vital asset to have in their side to try and save a frustrating start.

Similarly, former Swindon Town defender Paul Caddis is still in charge of Hereford at the time of writing and the relationship between the pair could appeal to the League Two side.

Readers, where do you think would be Tabor’s next destination?
