Burton Albion scored in injury time to steal all three points against Lincoln City in Sky Bet League One.

Sam Clucas and James Collins both had the ball in the back of the Brewers net, but in the end it was Charlie Webster’s injury time strike that meant the points went back to Burton.

Here are four key takeaways from a vital Albion win, as Lincoln have now won just one of their last six games.

A huge three points for the Brewers:

They just keep doing it.

Burton are on a good run for a reason, it is because they battle hard and keep on fighting.

Webster did just that in added time. He danced his way through the Imps defence, crushing Lincoln’s hopes of a point when he slapped the ball beyond Zach Jeacock.

Lincoln City cannot build on Mansfield Town win:

Lincoln looked sharp on Tuesday night, beating an out of form Mansfield away from home.

Dom Jefferies and Clucas, direct from a corner, both scored, after the skipper Paudie O’Connor kick off the evening with a header.

However, the Imps could not keep that momentum flowing. They had played well in portions of the game against Leyton Orient, despite a late winner for Richie Wellens’ men, but they found it hard to create chances against a determined Burton.

That being said, they were unlucky at times.

Sam Clucas denied a dream home debut:

January recruit Clucas was denied a dream goal to go alongside his home debut for the Imps, as he had a goal disallowed.

The former Premier League midfielder slalomed through the Burton backline just moments into the second-half. He skipped past two or three, before sliding the ball beyond Max Crocombe.

However, the referee adjudged a tug by Jovon Makama a recovering defender warranted a free kick.

Clucas was hooked off just after the hour mark, with fellow midfielder Tom Bayliss taking his place. It was very nearly a perfect home debut, playing his first game at the LNER Stadium some 15 years, five months and 21 days after his Lincoln City debut.

Burton Albion hard to break down:

Aside from Clucas’ dancing feet, Burton Albion were hard to break down. There was a reason Gary Bowyer’s men had only tasted defeat once in eight games heading into their trip to Lincolnshire.

Lincoln City found it hard to get through the Brewers backline, struggling to create many clear cut chances on goal.

That being side, the visitors found it difficult to create chances of their own going in the opposite direction.
