Hartlepool United midfielder Terrell Agyemang has returned to Championship side Middlesbrough following the conclusion of his loan spell with the club, as confirmed via a statement on the side’s official website.
The 20-year-old made a total of five appearances for John Askey’s side but has since returned to the Championship after the two clubs agreed against extending his stay by a further month.
Agyemang made his Hartlepool debut during a 2-1 loss to Aldershot Town, playing the full 90 minutes as well as featuring against FC Halifax Town, Rochdale, Ebbsfleet United and Chester FC in the FA Cup, but the club failed to win any of those games.
Following their relegation from League Two last season, Hartlepool United have struggled to get going in the National League thus far and have also been surrounded by several additional injuries and suspensions which has had a negative effect on John Askey’s side as a whole.
Agyemang can operate as either a right wing-back or as a defensive midfielder but has struggled to make a lasting impression for the National League side in what was his first senior loan spell in professional football thus far.
John Askey’s side will travel to Neal Ardley’s York City this weekend, following the news of a defensive blow which will see captain David Ferguson also miss the match due to a suspension after receiving his fifth booking of the football season.
The football club released a short statement on their website which stated…
‘We thank Terrell for his efforts and wish him the best of luck in his future.’

Sometimes a player either doesn’t suit a football club or doesn’t have the support of his new teammates and it appears as though that has been the case in this situation with Agyemang.
It does leave John Askey’s side an additional player short ahead of a difficult league match against York City and whether or not they opt to land a new signing before the weekend remains to be seen.
