During the summer transfer window, Andrew Dallas turned down a new contract at Solihull Moors as well as rejecting other offers to sign for League One Barnsley, but how has he faired since making the move?
The 24-year-old joined Barnsley on a free transfer, following a compensation agreement between the League One side and Solihull Moors, but was almost immediately sent out on loan.
Rather than staying in England, Barnsley opted to send the forward back up to Scotland with SPFL side Kilmarnock, joining the club on loan for the duration of the 2023/24 campaign.
Dallas made his debut for Barnsley during the opening weekend of the League One season, coming on as a late substitute. Fortunately, the Scotsman also scored on his debut with a superb header during the 7-0 victory against Port Vale.
However, Dallas was then sent out on loan to Kilmarnock in a bid to earn consistent first-team minutes rather than warming the bench in League One.
Dallas made his debut for the club in early September, appearing as a second-half substitute during a 2-0 defeat against Ross County. He has also featured against the likes of Aberdeen, Hearts and Celtic so far this season but has only started one of his 11 league appearances for the club.
However, during his only league start to date, Dallas provided an assist for Kilmarnock during their 2-2 draw against Dundee but has since slipped to operating as a substitute option.
Dallas did make a brief appearance for the club during their Scottish League Cup quarter-final tie against Hearts, but the club were beaten 2-1 to eliminate them from the competition.
With the January transfer window looming and Dallas struggling for game time, could Barnsley trigger their recall clause and send him to a League Two side on loan so he can play more minutes?
