From League One Promotion hopefuls to calls for the manager’s sacking. Huddersfield Town have been one of the most disappointing sides in the EFL this season.

With an XI arguably up there with the best in the league the club have failed to live up to their billing. Lee Grant’s side have lost five on the bounce and pressure continues to mount.

His owner Kevin Nagle gave him his public backing just over a week ago. However, the latest Opta Supercomputer predictions will not have made it any easier for him to justify his decision.

Huddersfield currently sit ninth in the table, but are predicted to fall further to 13th by the close of the current campaign.

Currently their chance of the title stands at 0.4%, automatic promotion at 1.4% and promotion via the play-offs at 11.6%. To put that into perspective, their chances of relegation also stand at 11.98%. This means that it is now more likely the Terriers will be playing League Two football next year, than Championship.

With the money invested and the ambitions and size of the club this must be worrying for decision makers.

Who is Predicted to Win the League One Title?

Currently the title battle, according to Opta will not amount to much, with Stockport County winning the league by 7 points. Cardiff City are predicted to finish in the second automatic spot.

Play-Offs?

Stevenage, Lincoln City and Bolton Wanderers join Bradford City in the play-off spots.

This could prove to be an interesting grouping, with Stevenage to face Bolton Wanderers in the semi-final and Lincoln City to face off against Bradford City.

Middle of the Pack

As previously mentioned it looks to be a difficult season for Huddersfield Town. They will be joined by Luton Town, Barnsley, Leyton Orient and Wycombe Wanderers amongst others in having a solid but uneventful season.

Relegation Battle

The four sides currently predicted to be playing League Two football next season are Exeter City, Burton Albion, Port Vale and the most shocking of them all Peterborough United. With the latter recently appointing Luke Williams at the helm they will be hoping they can improve their form.

Just above the drop are Plymouth Argyle, Northampton Town and Blackpool, who are predicted to just avoid prediction by one or two points.
