League One promotion hopefuls Huddersfield Town have welcomed back loanee Neo Eccleston from his loan spell at League Two Barrow.
The young full-back joined the Bluebirds on loan in the summer transfer window, and went on to play reasonably well over the first half of the League Two season. He made 25 appearances, scoring one goal against Harrogate Town early into his spell with the club.
Despite his success he did have some periods on the sidelines, missing the majority of December before making his return against Tranmere Rovers on their final game of 2024. He was only able to start seven league games before his return to the Terriers.
Barrow’s official website put put the following statement:
“Barrow AFC can also confirm that Neo Eccleston has departed The Bluebirds, with the young fullback also returning to his parent club.
Huddersfield Town’s Big Window
If the summer League One transfer window belonged to Birmingham City, the winter window is firmly Huddersfield Town’s so far. They have secured the additions of Luton Town’s Joe Taylor as well as Bolton Wanderers’ Dion Charles for significant transfer fees.
This means that two of the most exciting talents in League One last season will be lining up shoulder to shoulder in the second half of the season. The attacking lineup is close to rivalling the Stansfield May pairing at the Blues.
Judging by reports elsewhere, their transfer business may not be finished yet with significant investment being made to aid their push for an immediate promotion back to the Championship.
