Hull City Set To Defeat Rival Competition To Sign Premier League Starlet

Brighton goalkeeper Carl Rushworth is set for a quick return to the Championship, as he is set to join Hull City for the 2024/25 campaign.

With the Tigers starting their Championship campaign with three draws, it is easy to assume that they will need to add more players to their squad to be competitive this season.

They have made some solid additions so far, but with a huge number of departures for large transfer fees, there is still plenty of work to be done before their squad is complete for this season.

Goalkeeper is an issue that Hull have had for many seasons now, with their attempts to solve that this season still being scrutinised.

Their solution could soon be found however, as an extremely talented Premier League youngster is reportedly close to joining the club.

Rushworth to Hull?

According to Alan Nixon, Hull City are set to win the race to sign Brighton star Carl Rushworth on a season-long loan deal.

Blackburn Rovers and Swansea City held strong interest in the Englishman as well as Ipswich Town earlier in the window, but the Tigers are set to be the club that secures his signature for the rest of the season.

Rushworth has impressed at every club he has been at during his professional career, with him previously playing for Walsall, Lincoln City and Swansea on loan.

He truly established himself as one of the best talents in the EFL during his time with Swansea last year, with many labelling him as one of the best goalkeepers in the Championship last season.

The 23-year-old started every league game for the Swans last season, achieving ten clean sheets and was a vital part in ensuring the Swans were not dragged into relegation trouble last campaign.

A Good Move For Hull?

Rushworth to Hull City could become one of the best deals we see in the summer transfer window this year.

He has already proven he is more than good enough for this level, with many being surprised that he did not make the jump to Premier League football this season.

Another loan will give him yet another chance to prove he is ready to be a Premier League goalkeeper, and he will provide a huge boost to a Hull side that desperately needs it.
