Ipswich Town are advancing in their pursuit of Championship right-winger, Tom Fellows.
The West Bromwich Albion winger is said to be of interest to both the Tractor Boys and Everton this summer, but Kieran McKenna will be hopeful of landing a top target.
The Tractor Boys have done their business very smartly this summer, adding some of the Championship’s best players.
If promoted sides wish to stay in the division, then players who can assist and put the ball in the back of the net are crucial.
Ipswich Town advancing in talks over Tom fellows
McKenna has certmainly been sufficiently backed this summer with 11 new faces have already walked through the door.
However, after a nightmare start to the season losing their opening three games – albeit two were against Liverpool and Manchester City – Ipswich are certainly not done in this transfer window.
Armando Broja is someone who is being hotly tipped to make a move to Suffolk despite a deal looking dead in the water last week.
The Tractor Boys are still keeping a keen eye on the Championship’s top talent, as showcased by their significant interest in Fellows.
According to Football Insider, Ipswich are the side advancing in negotiations with West Brom over a deal to sign Fellows.
The England youth international is also wanted by Everton this summer, but McKenna’s side are now regarded as favourites to secure his services.
Tractor Boys hoping to beat Premier League rivals to top signing
Getting Fellows through the door would add significant depth to Ipswich’s attack, but also beating an established top-flight side in Everton to his signature would be a huge boost.
The right winger is said to have an £11 million price tag on his head, and this would end up making him the Town’s sixth most expensive signing of all time.
The West Brom attacker has only played 40 times in the Championship but enjoyed a breakout season last time out.
Fellows has certainly already stepped up his performances a level this campaign registering three assists in three league outings.
Why would Ipswich want to sign Fellows?
As things stand, a lot of the pressure to deliver on the right falls on the shoulders of Omari Hutchinson.
However, if Ipswich can push Fellows over the line, he would add serious competition in that position, and thus improve the overall standard out wide.
The Town know they must act quickly to beat Everton to the signing of Fellows, but also to beat the clock.
Clubs in England have until 11 pm on Friday, August 30th to complete their deals, so all the processes will now likely become a bit more rushed.
