Hull City are closing in on their latest summer signing, after agreeing on a deal to sign a current Jamaican international before the 11 pm deadline.
The Tigers have experienced a busy summer window having lost the likes of Jaden Philogene and Jacob Greaves to Premier League sides Aston Villa and Ipswich Town respectively.
With loanee Fabio Carvalho also returning to Liverpool, Hull have been left to try and salvage their attacking options ahead of going one better and attempting to finish inside of the top six this season.
However, it has now been reported that the Tigers are close to landing their newest signing in what could be a busy day for the Championship side.
Palmer set for Hull switch
As reported by journalist Graeme Bailey, Hull City are closing in on a deal to sign Jamaican international Kasey Palmer from fellow Championship side Coventry City.
Following a change in system at the CBS Arena, Palmer has been reduced to a squad player so far this season having fallen behind the likes of Ben Sheaf, Victor Torp and summer signing Jack Rudoni in the pecking order.
A permanent deal is reportedly close to being agreed between the two clubs, with Palmer likely travelling to his new home ahead of a medical.
How has he fared so far this season?
The 27-year-old has featured five times in all competitions for the Sky Blues so far this season, scoring once against former club Bristol City before picking up two additional assists in the EFL Cup.
Palmer has been with the Sky Blues since July 2022 following his permanent switch from Bristol City and helped Mark Robins’ side to reach the Championship play-off final as well as the FA Cup semi-final within the last two campaigns.
In total, Palmer has racked up 22 goal contributions in 75 first-team matches at the CBS Arena but that spell is set to come to an end before the window slams shut.
