Journalist Alan Swann has tipped full-back Harrison Burrows for a potential summer reunion with Ephron Mason-Clark at Championship side Coventry City, according to his article via the Peterborough Telegraph.
Burrows is about to enter the final 12 months of his contract at the League One side, leading to various speculation surrounding his future at Peterborough and whether or not he may be sold by the club this summer.
How did Burrows fair last season?
The 22-year-old played a starring role for Peterborough last season as they reached the League One play-off places before falling at the first hurdle to eventual winners Oxford United.
In total, Burrows made 58 appearances for Darren Ferguson’s side last season, scoring 12 goals and providing 18 assists in all competitions including scoring the winner as Peterborough beat Wycombe in the EFL Trophy final at Wembley Stadium.
Which clubs did Swann name as potential destinations?
Within his article, Swann focussed on the current defensive options at Peterborough and what he believes this summer could have in store for each of them.
In regards to Burrows, Swann mentions that his current contract situation is likely to attract interest from numerous clubs in the higher divisions and how Peterborough rejected bids for him in the January transfer window.
Coventry City, Watford, Portsmouth and Derby County are all mentioned as clubs that Swann believes are likely to make moves for Burrows this summer.
Do Coventry need Burrows?
Focussing on the Sky Blues, Alan Nixon previously linked Coventry’s Jay Dasilva with interest in Germany whilst fellow journalist Tom Collomosse reported that Jake Bidwell could be of interest this summer.
Both of these are the current Sky Blues left-backs at Mark Robins’ disposal, but if those reports are true – Coventry could be in for a busy summer in that department.
Similarly, Coventry City have recently signed Peterborough’s Ephron Mason-Clark who played ahead of Burrows in the left-winger position last season and could be tempted to land the 22-year-old to join his former teammate next season.
