Kevin de Bruyne is set to leave Manchester City this summer after the Premier League Champions opted not to extend his contract beyond this season.

One of the best players to ever grace the top flight of English football coming available on a free transfer has naturally alerted clubs around the world, who may want to tempt him to join them.

The Belgian has not ruled out any move including staying in the Premier League after describing his “shock” at not being offered a new deal.

Premier League Club hold talks over Kevin de Bruyne move

One of the clubs that could potentially make a move for the Manchester City man is fellow Premier League club Aston Villa, who have reportedly held internal talks to sign the free agent.

Unai Emery’s side have been ambitious in the transfer window recently snapping up the likes of Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio as they continue to push for a more permanent place amongst the Champions League spots. The failure of sides such as Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have provided the perfect opportunity.

The addition of de Bruyne could be a superb acquisition, should it come to fruition. Any talks are only internal at this stage according to Melissa Reddy and it is unknown whether the Premier League legend would be open to a move to the Villans but it does offer up an interesting prospect of him remaining in England.

Manchester City’s Summer of Change

There is no question that this has been a disappointing season for Pep Guardiola’s side, they have been way off the mark in the title race which looks to be handed to Liverpool on a case of when, not if it happens.

The club are clearing out many of their biggest stars with de Bruyne the headliner, but also fellow midfielder Bernado Silva also reportedly joining him through the exit door. There have been reports claiming interest in Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland too so there could be plenty of movement at the Etihad.
