Key Lincoln City Figure Hails His Side After Wigan Win

Lincoln City defender Sonny Bradley has waxed lyrical about the current mood within the camp as the club extended their unbeaten League One run at Wigan Athletic on Saturday afternoon.

The Imps left Lancashire with all three points and have now not tasted defeat for 12 matches, stretching back to November last year.

Togetherness And Unity Leave Nothing To Fear

Jack Moylan was again the match winner with a 24th-minute strike to move the Imps to within just two points of Cardiff City at the top of League One, and the experienced Bradley believes the entire group are pulling in the same direction.

He told the club’s official website:

“This was a real shift from everyone. You can really feel the togetherness and unity – with everyone doing their best to keep this unbeaten run going.”

Following their ninth win from 12 League One outings, a run that has seen Michael Skubala’s side chase down the Bluebirds and close the gap at the top, the former Luton Town defender says there’s nothing to fear for his side.

“We’ve every reason to be confident. Over the past few weeks, something has clicked, and there’s a real belief about how good we are. We’ve played against everyone and have absolutely nothing to fear.”

“The squad’s growing with some good additions. The new signings have seen the standards they need to match to integrate into the squad and make a difference between now and the end of the season.”

“Right now, it feels like we’re going to win every game, and the results speak for themselves.”

“That comes down the way we train every day, the way we interact with each other and the atmosphere built by the coaching staff.”

High Praise For Travelling Supporters

The 34-year-old also reserved praise for the travelling Imps, with close to 900 making the near two and a half hour journey to the north west.

“The fans were immense. In the second half, they were a good 120 yards from me when I was defending our box, but they were loud, and I could hear them throughout.”

“It was a massive team effort, and everyone played their part.”

No Substitute For Experience

Since arriving from Derby County in the summer, Bradley has established himself as a key member of the Lincoln City side, adding his experience to that of players like Adam Reach, Tendayi Darikwa and his former Derby teammate James Collins.

The defender has featured in 28 of City’s 29 league matches, chipping in with three goals, including the winner against leaders Cardiff in December. Bradley has helped keep 10 clean sheets so far this season and has blocked a huge 32 shots to help his side to the joint-second-best defensive record in the division.

A long trip to Plymouth is up next, followed by a Valentine’s Day clash at the LNER Stadium against Bolton Wanderers, a match that sees two of the current top three battle it out to keep up the hunt for automatic promotion.
