Four SkyBet League One clubs are in a race for Luton Town striker Joe Taylor, sources have told Football Insider.
Pete O’Rourke has reported Bolton Wanderers, Oxford United, Lincoln City and Wycombe Wanderers are among several third division looking to sign Taylor on loan.
The 21-year-old is currently on loan at League Two side Colchester United, where he has scored 12 goals across 27 competition appearances.
His goals have come alongside a couple of assists for the relegation-threatened Colchester despite their poor season.
Premier League Luton Town are set to recall Taylor from his current loan to send him to the division above this January.
The Peterborough-born striker plays for Wales at an international level, having scored once in three under-21s appearances.
The sought-after attacker has scored four times in his last seven games, ensuring he hits January in hot form.
Mid-table Lincoln are one side in desperate need of a striker due to an ongoing injury crisis, so it’s no surprise that they join the list of clubs seeking Taylor’s signature.
He joined Luton Town last January, leaving his hometown club Peterborough United. At the Posh he played 19 times, netting just once.
He even played six games for Luton across their promotion-winning season in the Championship last term.

As a Lincoln City reporter, I am keenly aware of the Imps’ need for attacking reinforcements. Given his strong output at a struggling League Two side, it’s clear to see why he’s on the radar of several sides from the division above.
Clubs like Bolton Wanderers and Oxford United are having good seasons and could certainly benefit in squad depth from an addition like Joe Taylor.
It’s going to be an interesting month as we await to see where he ends up by the time the window slams shut.
