League One Title Challengers Set To Clinch Signing Of Crystal Palace Man

Crystal Palace have a proud success rate when it comes to sending their young players into the EFL and one of those individuals looks destined for a League One switch next month.

In recent seasons, fans have seen the likes of Tayo Adaramola, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, Joe Whitworth and David Ozoh leave Crystal Palace on loan and experience levels of success in the EFL.

The player in question is currently on loan at another EFL side, but his increased levels of performance throughout the 2024/25 campaign thus far has seen him appear on the radar of clubs higher in the division and now a January move looks increasingly likely.

Crystal Palace man set for second EFL loan switch

According to London News Online, League One title-chasers Wycombe Wanderers are closing in on the loan signing of Crystal Palace youngster Danny Imray.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan at newly-promoted League Two side Bromley and has massively impressed with Andy Woodman’s side during the first half of their debut campaign in the EFL.

However, this loan spell is set to be cut short so Imray can make the move into League One and test himself further.

How has he fared so far this season?

Since joining Bromley on loan in the summer, Imray has made 20 appearances in League Two, contributing to three goals in the process thus far.

He also scored a vital goal against Solihull Moors in the FA Cup to move the club into round three for the first time in their history, where a trip to Premier League giants Newcastle United awaits them.

Imray has also made an appearance in the EFL Trophy for Bromley earlier this season and has been one of the teams standout players in the first half of the campaign thus far.

Is another loan move ideal?

When a player enjoys a loan spell during the first-half of the season, there is always a massive risk that presents itself when the parent club considers another loan move.

Imray is a guaranteed starter at Bromley who are currently mid-table in League Two and have a huge FA Cup tie on the horizon.

Wycombe on the other hand are battling for the League One title alongside Birmingham City and their right-back Jack Grimmer is also their captain, suggesting that Imray could find himself as a squad player or playing in another role for the Chairboys.

His playtime is likely to reduce if he makes the move to League One, but he would gain the ability to test himself against better opposition and have a shot at securing a promotion medal this season.

Wycombe and Bromley fans, what are your thoughts on this?
