Leeds United’s bid for Leicester City’s Harry Souttar has collapsed, as reported by Football Insider.
Defenders are an area that Daniel Farke has been looking to improve this window after Djed Spence was sent back to Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. Centre-back has also been identified for improvement by the Leeds boss, with names such as Ben Davies on the shortlist. Joe Rodon is also at Elland Road temporarily this season. Defensive options have become short for Farke after Pascal Struijk picked up a thigh injury. The Foxes are the only side who have conceded fewer goals than Leeds United this season.
One name that emerged on the Championship promotion hopeful’s list is Leicester City’s Harry Souttar. The Australian international has struggled for game time at the King Power this season. He has only featured for the Foxes four times this season, two of those through the starting eleven. Despite his troubles, Football Insider reports that the 25-year-old is set to stay with Enzo Maresca’s side despite the interest in his signing, which also comes from Sheffield United in the Premier League.
Souttar completed a move to the King Power while the Foxes were still a Premier League side last year. However, he has failed to make much of an impact for the club, making 16 appearances since arriving. His last appearance came in December in a 3-0 win over Rotherham, but it is worth noting that he has been on international duty with Australia this month.

Souttar has struggled to break into the side at the King Power. With just four appearances, he has not had many chances to show his capability and get a chance in the first-team either. A move would be best for him in this window, but it appears he is willing to remain with the club and fight for his place. His international duty could be the perfect argument to back his case.
