Fresh from securing the Championship title, Leeds United are already making moves to prepare their squad, ready for their Premier League return. The Whites have reportedly identified AFC Bournemouth full-back Max Aaron’s as a summer target

The West Yorkshire outfit is however likely to face stern competition for the 25-year-olds signature. Aaron’s is also the subject of discussions between the Cherries and La Liga side Sevilla over a possible loan with an option to buy deal.

Having spent the current season on loan at Valencia, Aaron’s looks destined for a brand new home next season.

Aaron’s Ready for New Challenge

The 2024/25 campaign has been one of relative frustration for Max Aaron’s, after struggling for minutes during his loan spell in Spain. Having fallen out of favour at parent club Bournemouth, it is little surprise to see him available for a reported £15m fee.

He made just three Premier League appearances for Bournemouth before the turn of the year, before heading out on loan in January. However, his fortunes didn’t change upon arrival at Mestalla, featuring just twice in defeats to Real Madrid, and a 7-1 drumming at the hands of Barcelona.

But the major interest being shown in the former England under-21 international is certainly warranted. Having begun his senior career graduating from the Norwich City Academy, Aaron’s went on to make 201 appearances for the Canaries. He played a vital role in various promotion and relegation seasons during his lengthy stint at Carrow Road.

While his career may have rather stalled since then, there is no doubting his talent, and potential value to his next club. He has made his name by exhibiting strong defensive instincts while carrying a relentless threat down the right-hand side.

Current Leeds boss Farke’ knows all about Aaron’s countless capabilities, and could benefit from reuniting with trialled and trusted players as he once again prepares to tackle the Premier League. The story was first reported by Football Espana.

Leeds United Mean Business

Leeds United have wasted no time in enacting their summer transfer plans, fresh from granting full support to Daniel Farke amid speculation over his position. After a two-year absence from the Premier League, the Leeds hierarchy is hell-bent on establishing themselves but will be fully aware of the sizeable task.

Having seen the three promoted sides be relegated immediately for the previous two seasons, the challenge of consolidating in the top tier is growing year on year. However, Leeds are one club to have proven it possible in recent years, having survived for three seasons during their last stint.

There is no questioning the strength of the current Leeds side, having edged out fellow 100-point hitters Burnley to the Championship title. Focus has immediately shifted, and the Elland Road faithful will be greatly encouraged by the early and decisive preparations taking place.

They will also be hopeful that Daniel Farke has taken sufficient knowledge and wisdom from his previous Premier League promotions as a manager. By setting their stall out early in the transfer market, Leeds is more likely to strengthen in the key areas and be readily equipped for a successful top-flight season.

Competition from La Liga and Serie A

If another shot at the Premier League isn’t the desired outcome for Aaron’s, there is also the attractive proposition of Spanish and Italian football on the table too.

While Sevilla have been the first club to hold concrete talks, Serie A outfit Atalanta are also said to be keen on the right-back.

Whichever club receives the seal of approval, it is likely to be a crucial move in the career of Aaron’s. It has been largely suggested that a key factor in his Valencia move was the chance to work under Carlos Coberan.

While the loan spell may not have been a roaring success, it may sway Aaron’s future decision-making towards working with familiar and trusted managers.
