Leeds United Make Decision on Daniel Farke’s Future

Leeds United are set to stick with Daniel Farke despite the club’s stuttering start to the Championship season. The German helped guide the Whites to the play-off final last campaign but were beaten by Southampton and have failed to kick on this term.

Farke currently has Leeds sitting ninth in the Championship, although he has been dealt a poor hand having lost Crysencio Summerville, Archie Gray and Georginio Rutter over the summer. However, the Whites do still boast an impressive squad and the hierarchy at Elland Road will be expecting the German to turn the club’s fortunes around.

Leeds United to keep faith in Daniel Farke

The Leeds boss was widely expected to guide his side back into the Premier League at the first time of asking, especially given the squad he had at his disposal. However, after not only missing out on automatic promotion, they then fell at the final hurdle on a national stage.

It’s been a shocking start to the season for Farke having won just twice across all competitions as well as shipping seven goals in four home matches. Elland Road was a fortress last season with the Whites losing just two matches, whereas this term the German has seen his side win one of four home encounters.

Despite this poor start and growing unrest, Football Insider are reporting that the Leeds hierarchy are to continue putting faith in Farke. Given the German’s record in the Championship and the number of positions he’s secured out of the division, sticking with him may not be the worst idea.

Farke to be handed one final lifeline

It’s believed that the chiefs at Elland Road are not panicking about the short-term future at Leeds and believe Farke is the right man for them. The Whites are already six points off the top two and have a sort of mountain to climb.

Leeds’ next batch of fixtures could well make or break Farke’s tenure at Elland Road. The Whites have Cardiff, Coventry and Norwich City in their next three fixtures and all those sides are below them in the table, so a clean sweep of points will be wanted by everyone involved with the club.
