Lincoln City have confirmed a key returnee, bolstering their coaching staff.
The Imps have sealed the return of Chris Cohen, after he exited the club in the summer to pursue an opportunity at SkyBet Championship outfit Stoke City.

Cohen, who played over 270 times for Nottingham Forest during his playing days, has since expanded into a career in coaching. He has assisted Nathan Jones at both Luton Town and Southampton, before adding the Potters to his resume over recent months.
He exited Stoke when Steven Schumacher was sacked from his position as head coach in September.
The former midfielder joined Lincoln City midway through last season, helping the Imps push towards the play-off places. Although they eventually fell short, losing to title winners Portsmouth on the final day of the season, Cohen was in the City backroom staff for the entirety of their 16 game unbeaten run.
Lincoln announced Cohen’s return on Monday, November 4. It included the note that has had played a “full part” in the club’s preparations for the Emirates FA Cup trip to non-league Chesham United.

In my view, Cohen was instrumental in Lincoln City ascendancy up the League One table during the last few months of the 2023/24 campaign. He was a major loss in the summer, and I have been genuinely surprised how well the Imps have managed to adapt and continue in the same positive vein that they ended last season.
However, in the same way his exit has a major downside, his return is a major coup. He will no doubt add value and real knowledge to the Lincoln backroom staff, as they continue to knock on the door of those teams up the right end of the League One ranks.
I think this will have a major impact on the Imps’ season, and prove to be a big moment when we look back on this term.
