Lincoln City: “Great Deal of Interest” in 23-year-old

Lincoln City

Lincoln City CEO Liam Scully has revealed there is a “great deal of interest” in central midfielder Ethan Erhahon, during an interview with BBC Radio Lincolnshire.

Scully explained to journalist Michael Hortin, during an episode of the ‘Red Imps Club’ podcast, that there has been interest in the Scotsman from both higher up the English Football League (EFL) and from abroad.

What Has Liam Scully Said?

In his interview with BBC Radio Lincolnshire, the Lincoln City CEO said: “[Ethan Erhahon] is one of the key players that have attracted attention above in the football league and even abroad. Whilst there’s been no firm offers yet, we are watching that closely… it will have to be a very appetising offer for Lincoln City to accept that, which may or may not happen.”

Lincoln City Have Already Lost One Star Player:

Lasse Sorensen has already left the Imps this summer, signing a three-year contract with fellow SkyBet League One club Huddersfield Town for an undisclosed fee.

The Dane was impressive at right-wing back for Lincoln, finishing the most recent campaign as the club’s top appearance maker, with 51 across all competitions.

Erhahon a Classy Midfielder:

The interest in Scotsman Erhahon was expected by City head coach Michael Skubala, who admitted it would be difficult to keep hold of the 23-year-old.

The former St. Mirren man, who joined Lincoln in January 2023, is a classy operator in the centre of the park. He has become a reliable figure for the Imps, missing just three of their league outings last term.

In all competitions he made 50 appearances last season, and completed the most minutes of any outfield player.

Wait and See – Opinion:

It is clear to see from the words of CEO Liam Scully that Lincoln City are in no rush, or feel any pressure, to sell the Ethan Erhahon. The interest in him from above (and abroad) was expected by those inside and outside of the club, but there is no doubt that the fee will have to be substantial for the Imps to let their man go.

As simple as it may sound, the case on the central midfielder is one that can be put in the ‘wait and see’ pile, at least for now.
