Lincoln City Reject “Laughable” and “Insulting” Championship Offer for Star

LINCOLN CITY

League One side Lincoln City have rejected an offer described as “laughable” from Championship side Swansea.

The Imps are expected to lose several of their starts this summer with Paudie O’Connor and Sean Roughan nearing the Sincil Bank exit door. But the club will likely be looking to bolster their transfer kitty with the sale of talisman Ethan Erhahon.

The Imps are understood to want at least seven figures for their midfielder who is on a long-term contract with the club, with Swansea City coming up short of that figure with just a £600k offer according to Pete O’Rourke.

One source close to THE DECK has suggested that he has a release clause in his contract in excess of £2million, although there is no indication that this is the figure the Imps are looking for.

Swansea City Offer is “Laughable”

Speaking about the news Here for the Lincoln host and League One expert Jake Tonge described the offer as “laughable”.

“With the talent Ethan has, coupled with his potential and the length of his contract we should be looking at north of seven figures.”

“I can completely understand why the club have rejected it.”

League One Lowdown host Sam Griffin went one step further describing the offer as “insulting”.

“That offer is insulting for a player of his talent.”

“It feels as though they are just testing the water but Lincoln are right to reject”

Championship Side Moved On Already

It appears as though the outright rejection has pushed The Swans to move onto other targets already, ending interest in the midfielder according to Tom Coleman.

“Swansea have had a bid knocked back for Lincoln’s Ethan Erhahon, and it seems unlikely they’ll return for another at this stage.”

“Told they’ve already moved on to other targets and have effectively ended interest in the midfielder already #Swans”

Good Story But Poor From Swansea

The story looks good on paper, Swansea submitting a bid for an in demand League One player. But in reality they missed the mark completely. The offer is far lower that would be the acceptable range for negotiation which is perhaps why Lincoln City were so quick to reject and Swansea were so quick to move on.
